Terms of service
Anvil is a product of Tybrite Labs. These terms are a working summary and will be expanded before general availability.
What Anvil does
Anvil builds and maintains an ecommerce storefront connected to your Galactic Core store. The storefront is yours; you are responsible for what you sell through it.
Paying for it
Anvil is prepaid. You buy credit and spend it as you build — there is no subscription and credit does not expire. Repairing a fault in a storefront Anvil built does not use your credit.
You are told what a build will cost before it starts, and that figure is a ceiling: a build that uses less is charged less and the difference is returned to you, and a build that would exceed the ceiling is still charged only the ceiling. If a build fails for a reason on our side, you are not charged for it. Running an A/B test, activating a scheduled change, and updates we make to the platform itself cost nothing.
Changes we make on your behalf
Your storefront is built on software we maintain, so a fault we find in it is a fault your storefront has. Three kinds of change reach a live storefront, and they are treated differently on purpose.
Security and correctness fixes are applied without asking. If we find a security problem, or something that makes a storefront take money incorrectly, we fix it on your storefront whether or not you have asked us to. You cannot agree in advance to a fix for a fault you have not been told about, and leaving a known-broken checkout live while we wait for a reply would be worse for you and for your shoppers. We always tell you afterwards, by email and in the app, saying what changed and why it did not wait.
New capabilities are off unless you turn them on. Anything that adds behaviour rather than repairing it is a change to how your shop works, which is your decision and not ours. We will tell you it exists and what it does; nothing is applied until you enable automatic improvements in your settings.
Pricing, payment and checkout logic always wait for your approval, whatever your settings say.
Every change is released gradually rather than to all storefronts at once, is reversed automatically if it causes a problem, and is reversible by you at any time. A complete record of every change we have made to your storefront is in your settings.
If you came to us through an agency
Some storefronts are built through an agency that runs Anvil under its own brand. If that is you, your agreement on price and support is with them, and they may charge you differently from our own published prices.
If that agency stops working with us, your storefront keeps running. It stays live and keeps taking orders. We will not take a working shop offline over a commercial disagreement between us and someone else — you are not a party to it.
What changes is who you deal with. Your account moves to us directly, at our own published prices, and mail and links about it start coming from Anvil rather than from your agency. We will tell you before that happens, not after. Your store and its data are in Galactic Core throughout and are not affected either way.
Ending it
You can stop using Anvil at any time. Your store and its data are in Galactic Core and are unaffected.
